The ME Legal Module Certification Exam consists of 75 multiple-choice questions. It is an open book exam with a 2-hour time limit.

- 2012 Building Department Administration, 5th Ed.
- 2017 Legal Aspects of Code Administration Human Resources Management for Public and Nonprofit Organizations: A Strategic Approach, 4th Ed.
- Special Inspection Manual, 2018 Ed.
Effective July 1, 2025, the National Certification Examinations will be based on 2021 International Codes
